Two Trips Around the Sun
Today marks the second trip around the sun for my sunshine ?
I have little to say other than THANK YOU for your mere existence.
Thank you for choosing us as your parents.
Thank you for your immense intuitive knowing.
Thank you for your visceral reminder that we are, first and foremost, quantum beings.
Thank you for your joyful hugs and demanding expressions.
Thank you for helping me evolve by reminding me with your two favourite words life is "safe", and most importantly, "FUN!"
Thanks, truly, for being the coolest little dude I know.

Life rarely works out as planned. (Planning is the domain of the intellect, and truth be told, our intellects, as it turns out, are not that fucking smart. They are the equivalent of mouse on a computer. But, I digress ..)
So I'm learning how to let go of narratives of what I believed "should be" over and over. I could not have imagined my kid growing up in this reality where freedom = QR codes (freedom pass), but so life happened.
And life, dear friends, makes us no promises. It just...lives.
With that in mind, I choose to just LIVE! Surrender into the unknown and unknowable over and over and just BE.
With the sparkle in his eye as my mirror to what matters: this very moment. The moment in which I am in; the moment in which life is expressing.

PS...
If you'd like to read our birth story, you can find it here.
If you'd like to hear me talk about it at the @doulasupportfoundation birth sharing contest, listen here (I recommend all of it but my part starts at 59:20 minutes in).
If our story moves you and you want to connect, I am but a single message away ?.

On birth trauma...
For those who have had a traumatic birth experience and would like to find the meaning and JOY in what happened, don't hesitate to DM me!
Birth can be complex and motherhood even more so. Yet when the dark is integrated, there is always "a bright side" that becomes available.
First...you gotta navigate the dark though...

Lastly, if you'd like to read my message to my son (poem) from last year, check it out here. That was powerful, too, for me to write.

All in all, I wouldn't change a fucking thing!
