Synchronicity, quantum entanglement, telepathic communication, whatever you want to call it, is an incredible phenomenon.
Today I wrote a blog post on why I will not be voting this election. At the same time, my mentor Louise LeBrun, released a blog post on why it is especially critical for her to vote this election. It is a spectacular read, worth every moment you devote to inhaling it in.
In this piece, she writes:
“For the first time in my life, I’ve contributed financially to a political party.
For the first time in my life, I’ve become a member of a political party.
For the first time, I will cast my vote by mail-in ballot.
And for the first time, I will vote according to my very intimate and personal values; vote in alignment with my conscience; and will with my vote declare where I stand relative to my very intimate and personal interpretation of what I see unfolding around me.
…
For me, this is less a vote in an election and more a moment of declaring mySelf.
The erosion of individual freedoms for the sake of a collective guarantees a collective that is compliant and unable to stand for itself. Perhaps we might all spend a moment and consider that one…
That is not the future I am choosing for my grandchildren.”
What is so spectacularly beautiful about this experience today is that although we decided on a different strategy (she to vote, me not to), the intention behind our individual decision is the same. In that, there is complete trust in the choice made by the other, without any desire (never mind need!) to change anyone’s mind, strategy, or to prove to one another that the other is ‘wrong’. There is no debate. There is no fear of expression. There is no judgement. Instead, there is only respect and generosity of spirit for one another.
As I have recently discovered, life expressing is never about the content or the strategy: it is about the intention that that we each hold and express from. That individual expression, that individual thread woven, contributes to the new design in the weave of the new tapestry of our collective, shared experience. Each thread is a new invitation to evolve by intention. It is an opportunity to consider a different perspective. From that space, we trust that the choice the other makes is perfect for them.
There are far and few spaces “out there” where I am able to intimately know this. Most of the places and institutions “out there” are designed to tell me what the truth is, what the intent is, what the strategy is, what the content is. It is a top-down directive that allows little to no space for my own curiosity to unfold. My only role: follow the predetermined, traditional rules as per my gender/status/class/affiliations/religion/education/etc. It is either black, or white. It is either wrong, or right. It is either us, or them.
These are the binaries that continue to keep us stagnated, replicating systems of thought, behaviours, attitudes, strategies, etc., that we know, deep down in our bones, are inherently failing us. Just because we do not know what else to do, where else to go, or who else to turn to.
From that externally referenced space, the notion to turn inward seems absurd, if not downright selfish.
Yet what I have discovered is that the only place to turn is inward. Internal referencing is the ultimate expression of love, respect, integrity and generosity of spirit for Life! After all, I AM the whole, expressing uniquely. I am not a unique expression of the whole. Allow yourself to feel the difference.
